knowing the nature of public healthcare, being worried and obsessing over self-censorship was at the forefront of my mind when i went to a public clinic, especially as a person holding a marginalized identity. going in a public clinic for the first time already felt really nerve-wracking but going in for a mental health assessment felt like one of the scariest things ever. so, this is my experience seeking mental health services from a public clinic for the first time.
